Maintenance Fitter - Visy Recycling Laverton

Full-time permanent position, working on Day shift.State of the art operation based in Laverton.Join a global leader dedicated to making serious progress in the sustainable packaging industry.The OpportunityAs the Mechanical Maintenance Fitter at our Visy Glass Recycling plant in Laverton, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will work in a full-time permanent role, on day shift, however you will need to be adaptable to working on our afternoon/night shift as required. In this role you will work closely with maintenance and production operations teams to lead initiatives in reducing plant downtime by conducting preventative mechanical maintenance activities, immediate breakdown repairs, and providing general fixed-plant mechanical maintenance as required throughout the plant. Your main responsibilities will include:Trouble shooting, machine inspections and attending to repairs and breakdowns.Work with hydraulics systems, motor controls, fixed plant and mobile machinery.Carry out routine checks and planned maintenance to preserve efficiency of machines.Utilize Electronic Maintenance Programs for data collection and analysis of maintenance information.Maintain awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, quality and environmental standards.Ad hoc duties as required.About Visy RecyclingVisy Recycling is at the forefront of sustainability, transforming recyclables into innovative packaging solutions. Join us in making a difference!What You Will Bring To The TeamComing with a minimum of 3 years post-trade experience as a Mechanical Fitter, gained from working in a heavy industrial or recycling environment, youll have an exceptional ability for fault finding and diagnostics, with the ability to work under urgency and pressure while maintaining high standards. You will be a proactive team player, with a good written and communication skills and processes a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following:Mechanical Trade qualification level 4 or equivalent.Basic oxy acetylene gas experience as a minimum together with mig/tig/stick welding skills.Analytical and problem-solving skills.
