Join an Organisation dedicated to Closing the Gap in Indigenous HealthAbout Us?The Institute for Urban Indigenous Health Ltd was established by its founding members to provide a coordinated/integrated approach to the planning, development and delivery of comprehensive primary health care services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander populations within the Southeast Qld Region.The Paediatric Services team aim is to support parents and children, from early childhood through to teenage years to enhance family functioning and promote childhood development and parental wellbeing.About the Role?As the Child and Family Specialist Coordinator within IUIH network, the role is to coordinate the care for children from early childhood through to teenage years and their families. This role will entail both coordination as well as direct clinical care. This is a full-time permanent position, primarily based at our head office located at Windsor.Working within the IUIH model of care, you will be required to:Triage and coordinate referrals, appointments and ongoing care for children and families who have been referred to child psychiatryWork alongside child psychiatrist and registrar, attending clinics across the region as required.Deliver clinical services, including assessment and safety planning for children and families.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, arrange case conferences.Ensure children have a current 715 health check.Manage wait lists and provide data on service delivery.Referrals to other services, internal and external as required.Develop linkages with external services and agencies.Attend weekly triage meetings with psychiatry team.Work closely with the paediatric coordinators and paediatricians and attend monthly service meeting.About You?Current C Class Drivers Licence (QLD)AHPRA RegistrationBachelor of Nursing Qualification or equivalentValid Disability Worker Screening Check (QLD Yellow Card) prior to your commencementStrong attention to details with a focus on clinical assessment and preventative health checksDemonstrated ability to work autonomously in a highly skilled role.Excellent communication and organisational skillsDesirable, but not mandatory:Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and /or communitiesMental health experience.Post graduate qualification in Child Health, Public Health, mental health or related qualification.What Can we Offer?At IUIH we recognise that we operate in a diverse community and welcome and encourage applications from all ages and genders, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse groups, the LGBTIQ+ community, veterans, refugees, and people with disability.At IUIH ''Our Collectivity is Our Strength''.We are a diverse and inclusive workplace that invites applications from all people.Be part of Australia''s largest community controlled Aboriginal Health Service.Access to "Growing Our Own Opportunities" through in-house training and programs.Weekly Staff Wellness activities and all staff ''Gather and Grow'' yarns and award ceremonies.Opportunities to attend community events such as NAIDOC, Rugby League Carnivals and more.Onsite Presto''s Caf at our Windsor Office providing a range of hot and cold beverages and healthy breakfast and lunch options.
