Join to apply for the Technical Officer role at The University of Western Australia. Fulltime appointment on a fixed term basis until September2027 with a base salary range of $83,212$92,231p.a. (prorata) plus 17% superannuation. Area College Services at UWA provides academic administration and technical support to the Universitys schools. The Technical Services team delivers disciplinespecific expertise to support teaching and research across diverse fields such as animal biology, plant biology, archaeology, geography, and environmental sciences. The team is known for its commitment to high performance, compliance, and fostering a pragmatic safety culture. Opportunity Deliver handson technical support across teaching and research environments Collaborate with academics and technical staff to optimise practical learning outcomes Contribute to the maintenance and safe operation of specialised equipment and instrumentation About You Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience, with a desirable background in Applied or Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Molecular Biology, and demonstrated experience in chemical usage and safety. Experience in preparing reagents, developing chemical methods, and handling, maintaining, and troubleshooting lab equipment. Proven experience in providing technical support within teaching and research environments, including setup, maintenance, and equipment management. Previous experience in tertiary or secondary teaching spaces is advantageous. Strong written and verbal communication abilities, with the experience to train and support staff and students. Demonstrated ability to organise, set priorities, meet deadlines, work independently, multitask, and collaborate effectively within a team. Note: A current C class manual drivers licence will be required by the successful applicant. The successful applicant must meet the physical requirements of the position.
