OverviewThis is a newly created, parttime rewarding opportunity to join a team that will shape the future of mental health and wellbeing in Victoria. Residents of Bairnsdale, Traralgon and Wonthaggi are welcome to apply. The role offers a salary in the range of $38.65 $41.45 per hour (SCHADS Level 3B) plus leave loading, superannuation and salary packaging.Wellways is committed to reconciliation, lived experience and inclusivity. About The ProgramA key Royal Commission recommendation emphasised the crucial role of families and carers in caring for loved ones and in the overall functioning and sustainability of the mental health system. The Mental Health and Wellbeing Connect Centres (MHWBC Centres) will be a vital component of the reformed Mental Health and Wellbeing system in Victoria. Services will be provided primarily by a team of individuals with personal experience as carers, offering support to families, carers, kin and supporters of individuals facing mental health challenges, psychological distress, mental illness or substance use concerns. About The RoleJoin a purpose and values driven team and play a vital role in ensuring that consumers, carers and their families receive valuable and supportive care. As our new Family Peer Worker, you will draw on your reallife experience to partner with families, friends and carers, understand their experiences, and, where appropriate, offer 1:1 support around key areas of challenge. You will help participants develop tailored action plans that reflect their aspirations and address their unique support needs, contributing to their overall health and wellbeing. You will also facilitate network meetings and deliver group intervention training and courses to strengthen carers ability to sustain their caring role. The role offers flexible scheduling and can convert to a fulltime position if desired.
