This position will support communications infrastructure at power generation sites throughout the Latrobe Valley. Its an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician to work on high-reliability, mission-critical systems across a range of dynamic and essential infrastructure environments.Position OverviewThe Communications Technician will play a key role in the installation, servicing, and support of digital two-way radio and communications systems across various power generation sites. This is a hands-on field-based role that requires a combination of technical ability, autonomy, and a strong safety mindset.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, and decommission two-way radios and related systems both on-site and in vehiclesDiagnose and repair faults in communication infrastructure to high technical standardsConduct scheduled preventative maintenance and site inspectionsAssist with project delivery including site surveys, commissioning, and documentationCollaborate with engineers, project managers, and site stakeholdersMaintain compliance with WHS regulations and site access protocolsParticipate in an on-call roster (where applicable)Required Skills & ExperienceMinimum 2 years experience in communications, electronics, or related field service rolesHands-on experience with Motorola systems (MOTOTRBO or similar) highly desirableStrong understanding of radio systems, IP networking, and cabling standardsProven fault-finding and diagnostic skillsAbility to work autonomously in variable site environmentsExcellent communication and reporting skillsQualifications & RequirementsCertificate II/III in Telecommunications or equivalent trade qualificationUnrestricted drivers licence essentialConstruction Induction Certification (White Card)Open cabling registration preferredWorking at Heights and EWP tickets preferredFamiliarity with WHS in industrial or power generation settingsWhy Join the team?Work with a respected industry leader in mission-critical communicationsBe part of high-impact infrastructure projects supporting Australias energy sectorCompetitive salary package with opportunities for growthFuture project opportunities in the Latrobe Valley and surrounding regionsSupportive team culture and a focus on safety and innovationHow to ApplyAll applications MUST be received via the GBS Recruitment website (www.gbsrecruitment.com.au),Job #949487and include a cover letter outlining your experience.Visa holders will also be required to provide evidence of their Rights to Work in Australia to be considered for these positions.
