It providessupport for the weekend Officer in the delivery of communitysafety, patrolling streets, pathways, parks, rivers, and otherCouncil-managed open spaces to ensure the safety of the communityaccessing these locations. You will assist with animal managementand take appropriate enforcement action where required, includingparking and local law breaches.The role ishighly visible in public areas and helps deter misuse of Councilspaces. Experience in animal handling, behaviour, and managementis essential, as the position regularly responds toanimal-related incidents. A proactive, community-focusedapproach and the ability to work independently are key tosuccess in this position.AboutYouOurideal applicant is a confident communicator with strong listening,negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, capable of handlingchallenging situations with empathy and professionalism.Well-developed investigative abilities are essential, including thecapacity to gather and present evidence to support enforcement andprosecution under local laws and environmental health legislation.The role involves responding to animal-related incidents, sodemonstrated skills in animal handling, behaviour, and managementare required.
