About the roleselectability is currently seeking a safety officer to work in the corporate team, supporting safety across the organisation''s footprint. The safety officer will report to the People & Culture Manager and will work closely with management to support, develop, and maintain consistent workplace health and safety processes across the selectability footprint. Based in Townsville, this is a permanent full-time position.Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:Supporting the organisation''s overall function of workplace health and safety, including psychosocial safety, in accordance with WHS legislation.Analyzing and reporting on WHS data to identify trends and corrective actions.Developing initiatives to maintain a safe workplace, using best practice principles and adhering to compliance requirements.Developing programs to maintain a psychologically safe workplace across the footprint.Supporting the development and review of policies and procedures related to WHS legislation, regulations, and standards.Reviewing incidents and providing guidance to leaders on corrective actions.Developing training to embed a culture of safety and risk mitigation across the footprint.Writing monthly safety reports.Proactively managing WorkCover claims using early intervention methods across the organisation.About youTo be successful, you must:Hold a Cert IV WHS (minimum), or be willing to obtain it.Have a strong working knowledge of safety management systems, legislation, regulations, including psychosocial safety.Understanding of NDIS, HSQF, National Mental Health, Child Safety, or Aged Care quality and practice standards is highly desirable.Experience in managing WorkCover claims.Possess strong written & verbal communication skills.Be committed to best practice.Role RequirementsA Positive Notice Working with Children (blue card) or ability to obtain it.NDIS Worker Screening Clearance or ability to obtain it.Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module ''Quality, Safety & You''.Occasional travel to various selectability locations is required.About the offerWe offer a range of benefits including:Salary range of $85,126 - $91,587.$15,900 + FBT salary packaging benefits.50% discounted training via our RTO.Access to fitness passport.Flexible working arrangements.Career pathways and opportunities for development.Employee assistance program offering confidential counselling support for employees.ApplyingIf this sounds like you, please submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your skills and experience and how you best fit this role.If you would like more information, please contact HR Josh Cannon at 0499 605 169 or email [email protected] usselectability is a not-for-profit charity with a primary focus on improving mental wellbeing and contributing to suicide prevention across regional Queensland.We believe everyone has the right to access high-quality supports locally and have recently expanded our services to include child safety and residential aged care in the Lower Gulf.If you would like to know more, please visit our website. #J-18808-Ljbffr
