In return, you will be a valued team member, be offered flexibility, and experience a meaningful career in an exciting, ever-evolving aviation industry.The Role & The TeamYour role as Western Sydney & Canberra (WS/CB) Senior System Safety Specialist will be to develop and maintain safety plans, develop safety cases and safety arguments, conduct safety activities, and contribute to the execution of the Western Sydney and Canberra Airport safety change program. Your activities will be formally documented in safety plans, risk registers, and safety cases. You will also provide support to program leaders with relevant key deliverables required by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority as the regulator for aviation safety.You can work to deadlines and solve problems independently, but you will also work well as part of a team. You possess the ability to engage stakeholders, foster relationships, and facilitate partnerships and cooperation at all levels. In addition, you will possess:At least a tertiary qualification in Engineering or equivalent (accredited under Washington Accord).CPEng for Engineers Australia or be eligible (preferable).Experience with major projects, or Operation and Maintenance, having held position/s in Safety Engineering (highly desirable).An understanding and application of RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, Safety) techniques such as RBD, Life Data Analysis, Systems Modelling, MTTF, MTBF, MTTR, FMECA, RCM, FTA (highly desirable).Awareness and experience of applying system safety engineering processes including PHA, FHA, PSSA, SSA, ETA, FTA, HAZOP, FMECA, RAM, Bowtie etc. (highly desirable).Applied knowledge of Safety Management Systems (highly desirable).Applied knowledge of Configuration and Document control practices (highly desirable).Applied knowledge of Quality Management Systems (highly desirable).Demonstrated experience in applying systems engineering processes and system safety techniques/methodologies (e.g. ISO 31000, ISO 45001, MIL-STD 882E, IEC-61508, Eurocontrol Safety Assessment Methodologies (SAM), ISO 15288) (highly desirable).Understanding of human factors application in evaluating change (highly desirable).Effective and concise written and verbal communication skills.Display a great attitude and ability to learn.Security ClearanceTo be eligible to apply, you must be an Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia.
