Join to apply for the Legal Counsel role at Elias Recruitment In-House Legal Counsel - Property Industry Peak Body | Sydney CBD or possible Remote/Hybrid | Part-time - 3 days per week | Competitive Salary + Benefits Great Salary $160k - $180k + super (depending on experience) (this is full-time salary, it will be pro-rata for 3 days per week) Are you a legal professional with a passion for the property sector? This is an exciting opportunity to join a respected industry organisation as In-House Legal Counsel, supporting its mission to lead, represent, and empower professionals across the property services industry. About the Role Reporting to the General Counsel, youll provide high-level legal and policy support across a broad range of issues affecting the property industry. This handson and varied role includes mentoring junior team members, contributing to legislative and policy submissions, and ensuring the organisation remains at the forefront of regulatory and industry change. Providing inhouse legal services across commercial, governance, compliance, IP, employment and privacy matters. Advising on legislation, policy and industry practice issues. Drafting, reviewing and maintaining real estate agency forms, agreements and related documentation. Preparing and reviewing marketing materials and communications for legal accuracy and alignment with organisational policy. Researching and developing policy positions, submissions and briefing papers. Mentoring and supervising a Graduate Legal Counsel and supporting the Policy Officer. Managing relationships with external lawyers and stakeholders as required. About You Youre a qualified solicitor with a current unrestricted NSW practising certificate and minimum 45 + years PQE, ideally with experience in property, commercial, or regulatory law. You enjoy variety, have strong attention to detail, and are motivated by supporting an organisation with purpose and industry impact. Proven ability to interpret and apply legislation. Experience mentoring or supervising junior staff. Strong organisational and timemanagement skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
