We are actively seeking a lawyer with expertise in Administrative law to join our well regarded Sydney Public Law team. The team is renowned for its exceptional mentorship and positive culture, supported by encouraging partners. Working alongside Partner Michael Winram and the wider team, this role focuses on providing merits review for a Commonwealth Government agency.ResponsibilitiesDrafting summaries of evidence and statements of issues.Assisting and attending case conferences and hearings.Conducting directions hearings.Drafting litigation strategies.Complex statutory interpretation.This offers an exceptional career opportunity for advancement and growth, working alongside professionals who share similar goals in a collaborative team environment.About You / QualificationsApproximately 2+ years post qualification experience, ideally with experience in government advisory work, and have a strong interest in administrative law and statutory interpretation.You may have a background of working in government and be keen to make your move into a law firm. Alternatively, you will be doing similar work in another firm and looking for a new opportunity.Excellent technical and drafting skillsAn enquiring mind as well as a possessing sound judgement and a can-do attitudeA commitment to team work and achieving challenging objectivesExperience in litigation and alternative dispute resolution including appearances at tribunals and/or court.Strong academic qualifications.Why join Maddocks?Maddocks is a great place to do great work.
