We are partnering with a prominent financial services organisation to find a talented Commercial Lawyer to join their legal and risk team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.About the RoleYoull be responsible for drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a broad range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, software licenses, and outsourcing arrangements. Your expertise will help shape business decisions and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks.Key ResponsibilitiesDraft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts to support operational and strategic goalsAdvise on contractual risks and mitigation strategiesCollaborate with internal teams to ensure legal alignment with business objectivesManage relationships with external legal counsel within budget parametersStay abreast of legislative and regulatory developmentsSupport the development of internal policies and proceduresAssist with ad-hoc commercial and corporate legal mattersAbout YouAdmitted as a solicitor in Australia with a current practising certificateMinimum 7 years post-admission experience in commercial law, ideally within financial services or insuranceStrong background in contract law, including drafting and negotiationPrevious in-house experience or time at a top-tier law firm is highly regardedSkills & AttributesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesConfident stakeholder engagement and influencing skillsHigh attention to detail and commitment to qualityProactive, self-motivated, and collaborativeWhy Apply?This role offers a unique opportunity to work within a high-performing legal team, gain exposure to complex commercial matters, and make a tangible impact on business outcomes.
