As we continue growing at a fast pace, will you Dare to Grow with us?OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOBThe Junior Solution Design Engineer works within CEVA Logistics solution design and implementation team and is responsible for innovative and automated warehouse solution design for new business opportunities and existing customers.When you join our Team, you will begin your journey as a junior solution design engineer partnered with group of senior solution design engineers completing data analysis and modelling. You will learn how to develop innovative recommendation packs to provide bespoke solutions for our customers. Your first-year training will include completing CEVA solution design methodology and cost modelling alongside understanding innovative solutions within warehouse operations. In your second year, your confidence will have grown, and you will have greater autonomy and continue to work alongside the implementation manager and warehouse management system team and work toward implementing the designed solutions for our clients. After completing the Graduate program, you will progress to solution design engineer and begin to take a lead in our projects.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES1. Warehouse Solution DesignWork with warehouse solutions design team through evaluation and introduction of suitable storage and handling mediums and automation relative to the customers needs.Provide warehouse analysis and design expertise in the pursuit of new business, inclusive of requirement clarifications, tender evaluations, manpower calculations, infrastructure and automation design and investment casesCollaborate with key stakeholders in CEVA Logistics (ANZ and Globally) to ensure a proposed solution solves the clients problemResponsible for key solution proposal deliverables and involvement in solution presentations to customersLearn to challenge traditional thinking through introduction of automation solution design and innovative commercial modelsMaintain working relationships and collaborate with vendors of integrated warehouse technologies and specialist firmsMaintain close links with LEAN and Business Process Engineering experts to learn LEAN methodologies ad ensure these methodologies are transferred to designed solutions.2. Operations Re-EngineeringReview existing operations lay-out and perform warehouse re-design as needed taking into consideration of net impact. Review appropriate storage types and methodologiesEnsure proper assessment of efficiency for solution concepts, undertake simulation studies on capacity profiles and limits, line balancing, incremental investments.Conduct financial impact (cost benefit) analysis for proposed initiatives, quantify savings projection and together with intangible benefit.Assess the impact of changes and project against commercial offers to assess areas of further substantiation or profit improvement.3. Warehouse Proposal/Bid Response SupportSupport the entire bid process, including the development of response format / pricing matrix / responding to queries to timely submission of RFI, RFP and RFQ to customer / sponsorsProvide expertise in the cost modelling and analysis of business for pricing determination and business improvement analysisSupport the information flow from the sales lead, and other sales team members and internal service / rate providers to create a complete and professional customer proposal within the required time parametersInterface with other function groups such as Operation, Business Process Engineering, IT, Project Management, Account Management and Business Development in developing the bid responseSKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOBBachelors or masters degree in Logistics, Business, Engineering, or a related fieldFluent in English and other languages beneficialA good basic understanding of Microsoft Excel and a willingness to learn moreESSENTIAL PERSONAL ATTRIBUTESIntelligent, lateral thinkerResults orientatedInnovative and creativeDrive for continuous improvementLocation : Sydney, AustraliaAs a global organization, and as part of the CMA CGM Group, diversity is critical to our business success; only when we can reflect the cultures, languages, behaviors and local knowledge of our customers, we can succeed.
