Key responsibilities include:Primary coach ensuring that all Academy sessions/matches are conducted and run in a professional and supportive environment, consistent with the vision of the Swans Academy.Responsible for Coaching and Building a Team First Environment for U/18 Male Swans Academy Players.Responsible for Assistant Coaching the U/16 Male Swans Academy Team.Integration of the Academy coaching philosophy across our other football programs, driving crossclub collaboration.Conduct game and training reviews and provide individual player and squad feedback using the most modern and effective systems and platforms.Under the direction of the Head of Academy, design and deliver coach education, football curriculum and talent development programs for both youth and topend programs.Under the direction of the Head of Academy, design and implement Individual Development Plans (IDP) to U18 topend Male Academy Players.Educate and deliver Resilience and Gratitude examples to Swans Academy Players.Under the direction of the Head of Academy, design and deliver statewide talent identification and assessment program.Ensure efficient alignment between Operations, Performance and Coaching of the Academy.Participate in Assessment trials and benchmark to establish talent for program.WHAT WE''RE LOOKING FORMinimum Level 1 AFL Coaching AccreditationPrior coaching experience in a similar role in a highperformance sporting environmentA highlevel knowledge of Australian Rules football with previous playing experienceWorking with Children Check and previous experience teaching/coaching childrenEffective communication style including the ability to adapt and deliver the desired outcomeData analysis and visualization capabilityCollaborative and Team First approach with all Academy Staff and PlayersDue to the nature of the industry, the ideal candidate must be flexible in their availability as extended hours and weekend work will be required for this role.TO APPLYTo be considered for this role please submit a one-page cover letter that addresses:Why you are the ideal person for the roleWhy you want to join our teamSend the cover letter along with a copy of your CV to [email protected] should be a maximum of four pages, including cover letter, and less than 5MB in size.Applications close 12 January 2026As we expect a high level of interest in the role, only those applicants shortlisted will be contacted.The Sydney Swans do not accept applications from recruitment agencies.Sydney Swans Limited is an equal opportunity employer.Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates are encouraged to apply.The Sydney Swans are committed to providing a safe environment for children and young people.
