We are the trusted partner of choice for power, gas, renewable and hydrogen transmission infrastructure across the country.We now invite a Head of Operations Power Services to join our Power & Electricity Transmission Team in the Operations Division. This permanent fulltime senior leadership role can be based in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne or Perth.Reporting to the General Manager Power & Electrical Transmission, you will lead the safe, reliable and efficient operation of APA''s growing portfolio of power generation and electrical transmission assets, ensuring strategic alignment, operational excellence and stakeholder value delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesOversee risk management, regulatory compliance and assurance activities within power operations.Lead major overhauls and project management for power assets.Develop, implement and maintain efficient standardised systems of work aligned with the operational excellence framework.Ensure compliance with technical standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO 55000 alignment.Lead business continuity planning and disaster recovery processes.Own and manage power business forums and crossbusiness systems and coordination.Industry ExperienceExperienced leader in the power generation sector, having managed medium to largescale operational teams and complex energy infrastructure assets.Operations include combined and/or open cycle gasfired power stations.Indepth knowledge of permit to work, asset management principles and practices, and familiarity with the latest technologies and innovations in the energy industry.Demonstrated experience delivering major overhauls and outages within a robust project management methodology.Understanding of relevant regulations, standards and best practices in the energy sector to ensure all work complies with legal and safety requirements.LeadershipDemonstrated success in leading multidisciplinary teams in highrisk, regulated environments.Strong track record in P&L ownership, budget management and cost>Success in developing highperformance teams supported by a strong safety culture.Technical & Strategic SkillsDeep understanding of operational risk, HSEH frameworks and compliance standards.Ability to drive continuous improvement, asset integration and business continuity planning.Strategic thinker with the ability to align operations with broader business goals and energy transition objectives.Education & QualificationsBachelor''s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical or Power Systems) or extensive relevant experience is essential.Postgraduate qualifications in Business Administration or Project Management are required.Postgraduate qualifications in Engineering Management or Leadership are advantageous.Working at APAAPA is committed to fostering a safe and inclusive workplace where you can achieve your best.
