Successful GetUp campaigners have a range of backgrounds and experiences including; journalism, media, communications, organising, public relations, law, policy, community work, creative industries and the arts.SCHADS classification Level 7-8 with salary $119,089.36 - $129,205.44 per annum + superannuation depending on experience. Whatever we do - from making sure hundreds of thousands of people are able to vote, to successfully stopping major projects threatening the environment, or securing billions of dollars in new funding for mental health we do it with as many people as possible using their hands, hearts, and voices to fight for justice on the issues that matter most.GetUp is currently several months into a significant rebuild following the last Federal Election. In the last few months, GetUp has been engaging more people in its campaigns and raising more money from its supporters than at any other point in the last few years, on a range of important issues from Freedom of Information to climate to gambling ads to Gaza. Hiring for a number of new roles including this one is a key part of that rebuild, and ensuring that GetUp is well placed to have very significant impact in the years ahead.The campaigns teamGetUp is full of talented campaigners who lead the organisation''s efforts to create a more progressive Australia. The campaigns team prides itself on deep strategic thinking as well as the ability to seize crucial change moments that make a massive difference on our issues.Their days are filled with analysing the political state of play, developing long-term and rapid-fire strategy, engaging with politicians, media and affected communities, spotting the right moment to intervene, running impactful tactics including everything from protests to undercover investigations, writing hard-hitting copy, and coming up with creative ways to give our members the best chance for impact.ResponsibilitiesRepresenting GetUp in the community and media;Writing member-focused communications that drive people to action, including the fundraising campaigns that help power our work;Determining and driving impactful campaign strategy in accordance with team goals and organisational strategy;Ensuring high quality campaign content across all GetUp channels;Rapidly determining appropriate courses of action to the latest news and developments;Leading on engagement strategies with key stakeholders, including political offices, other advocacy organisations and affected communities;Ensuring a strong team culture of experimentation, innovation, and evaluation;Managing campaigns teams to success, including setting and monitoring work outcomes.Your profileHas a deeply held commitment to justice who is passionate about creating progressive change on a wide range of issues;Has strong digital skills and a willingness to learn new technologies, and who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;Has strong written communication skills, adept at thinking through complex issues and communicating them simply and clearly;Works independently on a range of tasks and projects and takes initiative to get the job done;Is a team player who is always bringing off-the-wall, creative ideas to the table; andHas at least five years relevant professional experience.Experience copywriting in any context;Experience working in the media cycle;Experience in campaign organisingIf these criteria speak to you, you could be the perfect person for the job.
