As an experienced Manager in our Energy Lead Advisory team, you will work closely with energy project developers, investors, financiers, and key public sector stakeholders across Australia to harness capital and deliver impactful M&A solutions that drive the transition to a sustainable, green future.We are looking for driven, ambitious and collaborative individuals who are eager to dive into the dynamic and ever-changing energy sector. This is a unique opportunity to take on real responsibility from day one, work directly with senior team members and clients who are recognized market leaders, and join a growing M&A team with a strong emphasis on energy transition.ResponsibilitiesLeading the execution of transactions through the lifecycle including financial modelling, diligence, financing and transaction negotiation.Performing origination work, including client relationship development and developing market insights collateral.Leading conversations with potential investors and debt financiers to position deals in the market and address client needs.Identifying key value drivers and risk mitigation strategies, challenging assumptions about prices, asset performance and portfolio development strategies.Providing seamless integrated experiences for clients throughout the growth and optimisation M&A journey alongside other EY service lines.Develop and implement innovative strategies for energy sector M&A transactions that align with client objectives while responding to evolving market conditions.Preparation of detailed investment materials and supporting financial analyses to assist clients in decision-making.Understanding critical issues impacting purchase price negotiations and deal structuring, including risk and value management.Project manage due diligence workstreams and junior team members while ensuring effective information flows among stakeholders.Contribute to business plan initiatives, build strong client relationships, and demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of client operations.Monitor industry trends, regulatory developments and competitive dynamics to identify opportunities for clients.Mentor junior team members.Qualifications & SkillsOver 6 years experience in a transactions role within an advisory environment; able to work independently and with senior stakeholders across multiple engagements.Proven experience in M&A, project and corporate finance structuring, with knowledge of energy market fundamentals, regulatory frameworks, energy technologies, supply chains, public policy implications and project development challenges.Expertise in project finance and valuation modelling in live transactions; experience with deal document production and verbal presentation skills.Track record of managing and coaching individuals.Passion for decarbonising the economy and strong interest in the energy sector.Strong work ethic with adaptability in a collaborative team setting; resilient and creative in overcoming development hurdles.Bachelors or Masters degree in finance, accounting, business administration, economics, engineering or law is preferred.What We Offer YouCareer development: EY offers future-focused skills and world-class experiences to shape your career.Flexible work arrangements and a culture of trust and autonomy.Comprehensive benefits including wellness incentives, flex leave, and family-friendly policies (including gender-neutral paid parental leave).Competitive salary open to negotiation based on skills and experience.Acknowledgement of CountryEY acknowledges the Traditional Owners and Custodians of the lands on which EY offices are located around Australia.
