Laboratory and Field Technician

We specialise in providing occupational hygiene, environment, and hazardous materials services, training, support, and solutions for our clients.The opportunityWe are looking for a Laboratory and Field Technician to provide operational support to the Hygiene NSW team based in Sydney. Reporting to the Regional Manager, the successful candidate will have a keen attention to detail, a strong foundation in scientific principles, and the ability to follow complex protocols and procedures.Key responsibilities of the position include the following:Receive and process Occupational Hygiene and Environmental samples from internal and external customers.Conduct laboratory tests under the direction of laboratory analysts or managers, following NATA accreditation standards.Record and maintain all sampling, analysis, and receipt data in the RED OHMS Group Laboratory Information Management Systems.Ensure traceability and reliability of all sample data.Maintain equipment and perform calibrations according to the service and calibration schedule.Participate in proficiency testing schemes and maintain satisfactory scores.Perform internal quality control testing to ensure precision and accuracy of samples.Produce analytical reports and certificates and deliver findings to clients within required timeframes.Liaise with clients to ensure project goals, timelines, and budgets are met.Write technical reports and provide performance reports within stipulated timeframes.Conduct on-site sampling following relevant standards (AS/NZ/OSHA) and health & safety regulations, in line with NATA accreditation scope.You will bring:Proven experience in an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory settingDiploma of laboratory technology (equivalent or higher)Cert IV in laboratory techniques (highly desirable)Cert III in laboratory skills (highly desirable)Expertise in bulk material analysis for asbestos identificationExcellent communication skills and can relate to a diverse range of peopleHighly organised, tech-savvy, great at planning and managing work activitiesAbility to actively engage and contribute to a dynamic team environmentFull open drivers licence with flexibility to travel to clients'' sites as neededWhat we offer:The chance to shape and influence a supportive workplace culture in a rapidly growing organisation.A work environment where peoples health, safety and wellbeing is a top priority.Learning and development opportunities for personal growth.A workplace thats not just diverse but fun and supportive.Wellbeing support for you and your family.Our values:We look after each other.We work with integrity and respect.We take accountability for our actions.We work efficiently, are committed, and are driven to succeed.
