Head of Design

Head of Design, Pollen Digital Pollen is looking for a Head of Design to lead our product and experience practice and help shape the next chapter of our studio. We are an independent product and experience studio that designs AIenabled digital experiences for cultural institutions, government, health, sustainability and commercial organisations. We need a senior design leader who has led a similar role in a digital agency or consulting environment. The ideal candidate will guide the team, clients and work from Day1. Responsibilities Lead the full design function covering UX, UI, product design, content design and research. Shape the design vision for the studio, guide a growing team of designers, and work closely with our Strategy and Engineering leads. Set direction, mentor designers, steer complex programs and get handson on early discovery, framing and concept development. Work across clients and sectors: marketplace products, cultural sector experiences, government platforms, purposeled programs, health and wellbeing tools and more. Lead the design discipline at Pollen across craft, culture, quality and ways of working. Manage client relationships as the senior design point of trust. Shape multiproject accounts, evolve Pollens AIenabled design practices and capabilities. Participate in pitches, proposals and early scope shaping. Approximately 40% of your time will be applied directly to project work. Qualifications Experience leading design inside a digital agency or consulting studio. Proven track record guiding multidisciplinary product and experience teams. Confidence shaping complex programs from insight to delivery. Strong facilitation skills and ability to create clarity in messy problem spaces. Credibility with senior stakeholders and clear communication. Experience with AIinformed design or AIenabled product experiences. Ability to mentor and grow design teams. Ease moving between strategic leadership and handson design contribution.
