Solution Designer

Role Purpose This role is pivotal in providing expert support to service delivery teams, guiding and influencing the development and implementation of technology solutions that align with our strategic goals. You will play a critical role in shaping the planning and design of digital solutions, working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders including vendors, developers, and subject matter experts. Working with both on prem and cloud Infrastructure, your work will ensure all technology solutions are robust, sustainable, and meet organisational standards and long-term objectives. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain technology designs and standards based on Unitings IT Strategy, Roadmap, and Architecture Principles. Contribute to governance, assurance, and policy development for all Uniting technologies. Ensure documented solution designs meet established standards and effectively deliver intended outcomes. Execute build and deployment activities in line with vendor and stakeholder requirements, embedding security throughout. Evaluate emerging technologies and collaborate with architects and vendors to provide technical guidance. Provide expert technical advice to resolve complex incidents and support problem and request management. Translate strategic and business goals into actionable plans in collaboration with the Manager, Digital Technology Design and Delivery. Maintain awareness of industry trends and commercial developments to inform advice and decision-making across the organisation. Qualifications and Experience Typically, this role requires extensive experience in delivering technology solutions within complex environments. Advanced knowledge of Azure cloud architecture and security capabilities. Demonstrated experience with technology governance and assurance in medium to large organisations. Broad experience working with on-premises infrastructure, including WAN, LAN, and WiFi. Strong leadership qualities, including experience mentoring and guiding developers and engineers. Proven ability to engage and manage a wide range of stakeholders. Effective written and verbal communication skills with a methodical and disciplined work style. Able to work independently as well as collaboratively in crossfunctional teams. Experience in Enterprise Architecture disciplines. Knowledge of IT service design and operations. Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and DevOps practices in Azure. Understanding of Unitings services and related business processes.
