About the role National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Senior Project Officer to coordinate and manage key components in drafting a new National Parks Establishment Plan, working closely with the Project Lead to ensure successful delivery of all project milestones and outcomes on time and within budget. The Senior Project Officer will play a pivotal role in preparing the draft National Parks Establishment Plan for public exhibition, analysing stakeholder feedback, and providing strategic advice to guide the future growth and refinement of the national park estate, while ensuring alignment with government objectives. Key duties include leading the development and maintenance of ecological models and spatial mapping, managing environmental data and analysis, and facilitating a comprehensive stakeholder engagement program. About you You are a strategic thinker with strong project management skills and a passion for conservation and community outcomes. Your ability to analyse environmental data, interpret ecological models, and apply spatial analysis will be key to your success in this role. You bring expertise in managing environmental datasets and translating technical insights into practical solutions. You have a proven track record in facilitating workshops and designing effective stakeholder engagement programs. You excel at building relationships and communicating technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Your attention to detail and proficiency in planning, data management, and reporting ensure you meet deadlines and achieve results. You also bring experience in land acquisition processes, including drafting related policies and plans and preparing documents for public exhibition skills that are essential to delivering this project successfully. You demonstrate integrity, collaboration, and a commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring your work contributes to shaping the future of NSWs national park estate. Appropriate tertiary qualifications or demonstrated equivalent, relevant professional experience. Project management skills and experience with an understanding of contemporary best practice in procurement, tendering and contract preparation, in managing project teams, consultants and contractors, and in applying environmental safety and risk management policies and systems. Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and reviewing strategic plans, policies and programs, and in providing strategic and operational advice and recommendations to senior management.
