The IT Helpdesk Specialist takes a proactive approach to continued service improvement and actively engages with the business to ensure operational needs are being met.You will be responsible for providing high quality 1st/2nd level support to all internal users, ensuring staff can access and use networked end user computer services by supporting the overall IT function in an effort to minimise down-time.The IT Helpdesk Specialist is also responsible for supporting and maintaining the desktop operating systems in a Windows environment along with any general maintenance of all IT-related hardware/software such as collaboration technologies.This role will be located in our Sydney office locations (Barangaroo & Martin Place) around the CBD & North Ryde.Hicksons is a flexible, hybrid working organisation so this role will have the opportunity to balance working from home and being in our Sydney CBD offices.Key responsibilities: Proactively seeks issues throughout the firm, providing a high level of support across all in-person and hybrid working environments. Answers, evaluates and prioritises incoming requests from users while providing support to all IT related services. Analyses and evaluates incident reports, proactively making recommendations to improve service and improve user satisfaction. Ensures security and compliance of end user devices and reporting back on non-compliant systems. Regularly reviews support documentation and development and distribution of communication around planned and unplanned outages. Updates and creates documentation for new hardware and software guides. Acts as a point of contact for software and hardware vendors when escalating issues to a 3rd party support function. Installs standard user equipment and assisting with staff moves, setting up and configures new laptops and desktops including all standard peripherals.What You Offer: Minimum 1-2 years in experience in a similar, customer service focussed IT role Diploma or higher IT qualification or equivalent IT industry experience Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft platforms Demonstrated understanding of ITIL/ITSM processes. Strong knowledge of MS Office products Hardware, software and network fault diagnosis. High level of interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Excellent problem-solving skills, with high competency in troubleshooting. Flexible and adaptable to an evolving work environment. Proven ability to work as part of a small team and experience dealing with people. Sound understanding of legal practice and technology is desirable.
