Trade Repair Officer

The OpportunityJoin Ventia in partnership with the Australian Defence Force, based in Moorebank, and play a key role in supporting the day-to-day delivery of repair and maintenance services across a diverse range of plant and equipment.In this position, you will coordinate maintenance activities, conduct quality audits and technical inspections, and ensure all works are completed safely and in accordance with required standards. You will also build and maintain strong relationships with external service providers to ensure the efficient, timely, and high-quality repair and maintenance of equipment.Why Join Us?A competitive hourly ratePermanent full-time positionThe opportunity to step up and transition off the toolsExcellent work-life balance with consistent hours: 7:00am 3:45pm Monday to Thursday, and 7:00am 12:00pm FridayOngoing training, upskilling, and professional development opportunitiesSupportive leadership within a positive, team-focused environmentA comprehensive range of benefits designed to support you and your family while building a rewarding, long-term careerKey AccountabilitiesSupport Schedulers and Planners to coordinate maintenance activities and achieve performance and quality targetsIdentify, resolve, and escalate safety, compliance, and maintenance issues as requiredManage parts procurement and prepare work packs and quotations with approved subcontractorsVerify subcontractor invoices and ensure accurate billing and documentationProvide subcontractors with required safety processes and ensure complianceAssist in sourcing subcontractors to support Defence asset maintenanceConduct technical inspections of components during repair and returnMaintain accurate document control in line with Defence and Ventia requirementsWork independently or within a team, applying sound judgement and communication skillsAbout YouAustralian Citizen with the ability to obtain a Baseline Security ClearanceRecognised Trade Certificate or Certificate III in a relevant trade (e.g. Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, Refrigeration, Fitter/Armourer)Proven experience in maintenance management, quality audits, and technical inspectionsDemonstrated experience overseeing equipment repairs conducted by commercial service providersStrong supervisory capability and sound technical inspection skillsProficient in maintenance management systems and IT applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and SAP HANASolid understanding of work health, safety, and security requirements, with a commitment to legislative complianceCurrent Class C (manual) driver''s licence; HR licence advantageousExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbout VentiaVentia is a leading infrastructure services company, operating across Australia and New Zealand.
