Electrician - Nightshift

Purpose of the roleInterested in traffic signals and other ITS assets?This is the perfect opportunity to broaden your skills in this unique industry of electronic road infrastructure.This role has the primary responsibility for the construction, maintenance, and inspection of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) assets, ancillary equipment, and other highways electrical systems.You will be responsible for performing construction and reconstruction of ITS assets in line with Yunex Traffic, legislative and customer contractual requirements. Maintenance works can be of a planned or reactive nature, and you will have the ability to respond to a changing environment.The working pattern will be approximately 70% night shift and 30% day shift (throughout the year) but this can change depending on customer requirements, overtime is also available.Areas of responsibility and tasksConstruction and reconstruction of assets, such as Traffic Control Signals (TCS), Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Hazard warning signs (AWS, VSLS) etc. Electrical testing of ITS assets. Preparation of equipment prior to final installation e.g., Traffic Signal Controllers or vehicle detection systems.Commissioning of ITS assets.Installation or modification of new and existing ITS assets.Successful completion of mandatory technical or safety related training.Undertake appropriate training with the addition of new equipment and systems as and when necessary, via formal and informal training, including on the job training.Liaising with customers and other contractors that may be on site.Ensuring works are completed in accordance with the site specification, in a timely manner and to a high-quality level.Conduct yourself in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, all employees have a duty to comply with all Health and Safety Procedures and to be alert in identifying potential hazards by removing or minimising them wherever possibleAny other duties reasonably practicable within the skills required for the roleKnowledge & SkillsThe key competencies and capabilities for this role are:Training will be provided where required in the relevant asset categories.High level of communication skills, both verbal and written, will be necessary as you will be expected to liaise with other parts of the business and with customersAbility to achieve objectives with strict deadlines and manage your own workloadOutlook - co-operative, helpful, willing to use initiative and conscientious.Flexibility - willing to change, move from one activity or work area to another, learn new activities, pick up new jobs confidently and easily.Effectiveness - drive and energy applied to work, accuracy and reliability, ability to get things right first time.Teamwork - work towards the team''s goals, work well with other people, communicate effectively within the team, and contribute to a high standard of team morale.Must be physically fit as this role requires a certain element of manual handling.Preferred experienceIt is desirable butnot mandatoryto have a technical understanding in some / all the following:Traffic signal fundamentals and TfNSW SPECIFICATION D&C TS101Transport for New South Wales (RMS) ITS standards/specificationsKnowledge of ITS and traffic signal products from across the industryRequired QualificationsDriving Licence (Full)NSW Electrical licenceWhite card.Uniting what''s next in trafficWe are a global leader in intelligent traffic systems, offering the broadest end-to-end portfolio of solutions for adaptive traffic control and management, highway and tunnel automation, and intelligent solutions for V2X and tolling systems.
