Cumberland boasts one of the most diverse communities in Australia, with people from many different backgrounds and cultures living alongside one another.Our people are focused on driving community outcomes, programs and services to innovate, inspire and deliver change for the community we represent and has worked hard to fulfil its community''s vision for Cumberland as a place where anyone can feel welcome, belong and succeed.About The OpportunityThe Strategic Communications team sits within Council''s Corporate Performance Directorate and is responsible for providing high quality media and communications services to all stakeholders including our Community, Executive Team, Senior Leadership Team and Council staff.The team provides timely advice and assistance to internal and external customers on a range of communications functions including content creation and design, media and public relations management, digital and social media management, marketing, advertising, promotions, print and brand management, and Corporate and community consultation activities.We have an exciting opportunity within the team for a dynamic Coordinator Corporate and Community Engagement who will be responsible for the implementation, review, updating and delivery of the Cumberland Community Engagement and Participation Strategy, embedding best practice engagement across Council operations. This role will be responsible for the planning, delivery and reporting on community consultation activities.The Successful Applicant Will RequireTertiary qualifications in Communications and /or Community Engagement Minimum of 5 years'' experience in Corporate and/or Communications roles with demonstrated application of public participation processes Knowledge, experience and application of IAP2 Framework and /or IAP2 qualificationsDemonstrated experience in overseeing complex collaborative engagement projects, and the ability to develop, implement and evaluate strategic plans and policies Proficient in systems such as Microsoft, Adobe, Indesign, and Excel Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, proven negotiation, conflict resolution, and problem-solving ability Proven ability to undertake multiple, concurrent engagement projects and produce communications material for a range of audiences across a range of formats Proven ability to relay information clearly and effectively Excellent time management and organisational skills Class C drivers licence.
