As part of our team, you''ll work closely with a diverse range of clients and transform lives every day.About The RoleA unique opportunity is now available for an experienced Caseworker to diversify your skills and support individuals and families experiencing homelessness and domestic violence.This is a 6-month fixed term contract based out of our Dom''s Place, in Hornsby with some days requiring to be worked at our Waitara office. There is potential opportunity for this contract to be extended.We are open to working holiday visa holders.About Dom''s PlaceDom''s Place is a drop-in centre, operating as a ''one-stop-shop,'' an inclusive space where women, men and children can feel safe and connected. Some people pop in to get a meal, wash their clothes and chat with a social worker to address housing needs. Others come and play a game of pool, use the computers and connect with employment pathways. We offer case management, counselling, group workshops and mental health supports, as well as referrals to other services as needed. Other local services also operate from Dom''s Place including legal, housing, cultural, financial and medical services.What You''ll DoProviding case management support consistent with trauma informed practices.Conducting needs-based assessments, developing case plans in consultation with each client, conducting regular case plan reviews specific to the needs of the individual.Ensure appropriate referrals are made to address risk factors such as mental health, drugs and alcohol, domestic violence and other contributors.Liaising closely with internal and external services/agencies involved in the care and support of individual clients to ensure the best outcomes possible.Assist and advocate for clients in meeting practical needs via liaison with government providers such as housing and courts & related welfare agency service providers.Maintaining accurate and up-to-date documentation of all client interactions.Providing outreach support to clients when required at various locations based on client need.Facilitate development initiatives and collective solutions within a homelessness or at risk community to address complex issues, needs and problems associated with daily living including recreational, health, housing, employment and other welfare matters.What You''ll Bring:Preferable tertiary qualifications in a Social Work, Psychology, or related areas; or Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma.Minimum 3 years'' experience in Casework interventions.Proven ability to respond and work within complex trauma, Mental Health, Alcohol and Drugs, Domestic Violence and other mitigating needs.Ability to demonstrate networking and advocacy skills with both internal and external stakeholders.Ability to provide strong and respectful advocacy in situations of high pressure and competing agendas.Ability to manage a crisis or safety situations and make sound decisions under pressure.A NSW Driver''s Licence and own insured vehicle.Why Join Us?Salary packaging - Boost your take-home pay.Fitness Passport program - discounted gyms memberships across Australia.
