Hurstville, New South WalesDescriptionThe RoleWe are seeking a motivated and detailoriented individual to provide highquality research and administrative support within our Corporate Governance and Risk team. In this casual role (up to 35 hours per week), you will contribute to important activities across access to information applications, internal privacy reviews, insurance claim coordination, policy development, and the maintenance of public disclosure registers. This is a great opportunity to gain exposure to core governance functions while supporting a team committed to integrity, transparency, and service excellence.Key Accountabilities Are, But Not Limited ToSupport the processing of GIPA applications, including research and administration tasks that help ensure timely access to information and compliance with legislative requirements.Assist in interpreting and applying key legislation, including privacy, local government and access to information laws, with guidance from the team.Help coordinate Council''s statutory reporting, ensuring information provided to oversight bodies is accurate and delivered on time.Handle confidential and sensitive matters with professionalism, maintaining trust and integrity in all interactions.Maintain and update governance registers and records, including the GIPA Disclosure Log and internal systems, ensuring accuracy and currency.Respond to enquiries from staff and the public, providing helpful, timely and customerfocused support in line with Council policies.Contribute to ongoing improvements in governance processes, supporting the implementation and enhancement of the Corporate Governance Framework.About YouA background or interest in law or governance.
