We are looking for an accomplished Senior Legal Counsel to join the team in either a full or part time 4 days a week capacity.Reporting into the Head of Group Legal, youll partner closely with the business as a trusted legal advisor to support strategic initiatives in a fast-paced and regulated environment. Youll also have the opportunity to assist with overall legal needs for major projects and transactions, such as regulatory changes and responses to identified risk exposures.Were seeking a mid to senior level lawyer with demonstrated experience working in the financial services sector, ideally with specialised experience in the areas of Retail Banking or Litigation.Youll be part of a team whose culture is based on trust and mutual respect, who work collaboratively and independently. The work you do will be impactful and your expertise will be valued by the business.This role can be based in Adelaide, Bendigo, Melbourne or Sydney. We offer flexible work options that put our people first, and a hybrid model with a minimum requirement of 60% of your time per week in the office.What youll bring to the roleA legal qualification and admission to practice in AustraliaDemonstrated previous experience in a similar role from within the Banking and Financial Services sector (private practice or in-house)Highly developed relationship skills, able to build trust and confidence with senior executives and business partnersExcellent communication skills both written and verbalStrong technical analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to interpret and explain complex legislation and to plan and implement policy and risk management strategies considering legislative and regulatory changesSo, why work with us?Want big impact that matters?
