They will be instrumental in automating processes, optimising systems and ensuring reliability and security of production environments with the software development teams. Role AccountabilitiesWorking closely with the DevOps Lead in developing proposals and strategiesResponsible for identifying the need for automation across the development teams, finding ways tooptimisation / automationResearching, analysing and finding best practice solutions that align to the program needsAble to collaborate and implement DevOps principles within squads.Identifying security solutionsProposes changes to the system architecture in order to enhanceProactively champions, identifies & implements new initiatives & solutions that enhance our cloud infrastructureManage and maintain 100+ AWS instances across 50+ VPCs globallyManage a global fleet of tens of thousands of Linux powered IoT devicesFollow system monitoring and respond to alerts to ensure system uptimeIdentifying, investigating and analysing current business processes, procedures and work practices looking at new ways to incorporate into our productsDevelops documentation to support DevopsProactively sees problems and solutions with the tech leadRole RequirementsMin 3-5 years experience working within software development or platform engineering teams.Experience in Agile methodologyIaC experience essential in cloudformation, terraform or AWS CDK at least 1 out of 3Strong knowledge of AWS, EC2, Lambda, SqsSolid grasp of advanced serverless and containerized work loadsLinux system and network administration skills (we mostly use Ubuntu)desirableExperience in configuration management tools such as Ansible desirableExperience in monitoring and observability dashboard tools like SumoLogic, AWS CloudWatchDeep understanding of architectural patterns for modern software stacks e.g. distributed architectures and microservicesAbout CoatesWe are industry leaders who have won awards and set records.
