At Nexl, each squad owns a core function of our platform end-to-end - product, engineering, and design working together, shipping to real users at leading law firms around the world.Lawyer Squad - Builds the tools lawyers rely on daily: dashboards, workflows, client portals, and experiences that make it easier for lawyers to stay connected, act on intelligence, and grow their books of business.Marketing Squad - Builds the marketing intelligence and campaign tools that help law firm marketing teams run smarter. Think contact management, targeting, event and campaign workflows, and data-driven insights that connect marketing activity to real business outcomes.During the hiring process, we''ll explore which squad is the best fit for you based on your background and interests.The RoleWe''re looking for Senior Software Engineers with deep React and TypeScript expertise who want to take real ownership of a world-class product used by lawyers and marketers at leading global firms.You''ll be the front-end specialist on your squad - but at Nexl, senior engineers are expected to work across the full stack. That means contributing to backend work (primarily Ruby on Rails and Python) when features demand it. This is about giving engineers end-to-end accountability for what they ship.If you love being close to users and UI, care about the quality of what you build, and want to be part of a successful Series B company - this role is for you.What You''ll Own & Do:Build polished, high-quality web interfaces using React and TypeScriptShip full-stack features end-to-end, contributing to backend work in Rails and Python as neededWork closely with Product & Design to create simple, intuitive user experiencesImprove frontend performance, maintainability, accessibility, and consistencyHelp evolve our frontend architecture, component library, and design systemDebug issues across the stack, starting from the UI layerUse AI tools to move faster from coding to testing to documentationMentor engineers and help raise the engineering bar across your squadWhat We''re Looking For:Must haves:Strong, proven experience building and shipping React/TypeScript applicationsComfort working full-stack, including experience with Ruby on Rails or a willingness to grow in itSharp instincts around UX, UI quality, and user-centred designExperience building and shipping in SaaS or fast-moving product environmentsStrong debugging, testing, and performance awarenessAbility to take ownership, operate with autonomy, and drive outcomes without hand-holdingComfortable navigating ambiguity and complex problem spacesStrong collaboration skills with Engineering, Product, and DesignUnderstanding of security best practices auth, permissions, data protectionFluency using AI tools as part of your engineering workflowNice to haves:Experience with React Native (a bonus for the Lawyer Squad in particular)Experience in multi-tenant or data-heavy SaaS applicationsExposure to GraphQL, gRPC, or real-time protocols (WebSockets)Experience with AI/LLM application developmentExperience working in cross-functional product squadsFamiliarity with Marketing Tech, CRM-like systems, or workflow automation productsExperience in LegalTech or Professional Services techKnowledge of DevOps practices, cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure)Experience mentoring engineers or shaping engineering cultureBackground in scale-up or early-stage tech environmentsLife at NexlHigh growth.
