As part of this journey, they''re looking to bring in an Azure Technical Lead to act as the subject matter expert across Azure infrastructure and Infrastructure-as-Code, with a strong focus on Bicep.This role sits at the intersection of architecture and engineering - ideal for someone who still enjoys being hands-on while leading technical direction and mentoring engineers.The RoleYou''ll play a key role in designing and implementing scalable Azure environments while driving best practice across automation, deployment standards and platform engineering.Key responsibilities include:Leading Azure platform design and implementation across enterprise workloadsActing as the SME for Bicep and Infrastructure-as-Code standardsDesigning reusable Azure landing zones and deployment patternsDriving automation and zero-touch environment provisioningProviding technical leadership and mentoring engineers within the platform teamPartnering with architecture, security and delivery teams to align cloud solutions with business outcomesImproving platform reliability, governance and cost optimisationWhat We''re Looking ForStrong hands-on Azure engineering backgroundDeep expertise in Bicep (essential)Experience building and managing Azure environments at scaleStrong understanding of networking, identity and security within AzureExperience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deploymentsBackground working in regulated or enterprise environments (financial services beneficial)Ability to translate architecture into practical engineering outcomesNice to HavePlatform engineering or DevOps leadership experienceTerraform exposure (alongside Bicep)Experience designing Azure landing zonesExposure to hybrid or legacy modernisation programs
