Senior Liability Claims Consultant

We are partnered with an International insurer in the Personal Injury and General Insurance space who are expanding their market share and who are seeking experienced Senior Liability Claims Consultant to join their team in Sydney.As a Senior Liability Claims Consultant in the casualty team, your role is to deliver high-quality outcomes on intermediate to complex claims through prompt contact, thorough investigation, accurate reserving, and effective claims management for losses incurred by insureds or third parties. Your portfolio will include Personal Injury and Property Damage claims include High-Value and multinational claims.Key Responsibilities:Provide coaching and mentorship to Claims Examiners and Claims Specialists within your area of technical expertise.Review the initial report to determine the nature of the loss, applicable coverage, and the extent of injury or damage.Conduct comprehensive investigations into all aspects of reported claims, including potential fraud. Obtain, review, and validate all supporting documentation for accuracy, relevance, and completeness.Maintain an active diary system to ensure timely file development and claim resolution.Apply sound judgment in determining claim outcomes by assessing liability, injury or damage, coverage, policy limits, and the nature of the loss.Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, including the Claims Department, Customer Service, Loss Control, Underwriting, brokers, insureds, legal counsel, and third parties or their representatives.Skills and Experience:Tertiary qualification (Law degree preferred).Strong written and verbal communication skills in claims handling.Knowledge of relevant legal requirements and regulations.Experience in damage and/or loss assessment.Strong negotiation skills.Understanding of litigation processes.Proficiency in reserving practices.Why you will love this role:Up to $150,000 plus Superannuation + BonusJoin a high performing team and work on a brand new portfolio of claims.
