Private Practice | Sydney CBD | Wednesdays & Thursdays Preferred Are you a psychologist looking to move into private practice for a few days a week without burning out or starting from scratch? Do you want stable income, support to further develop your clinical expertise (including CPD and peer consultation), and a caseload aligned with your clinical niche?The Psychology Alley is a growing, values-driven private practice based in Sydney CBD (St James Trust Building). We''re looking for a Psychologist to join the practice 2 days per week, ideally Wednesdays and Thursdays, as an employee of the practice.This role is designed for a psychologist currently working outside of private practice (e.g. hospital, NGO, community, or mixed roles) who wants to transition into private practice in a supported, sustainable way, while building a caseload aligned with their clinical interests.This role would suit a mid-career psychologist who: Wants a more aligned caseload that reflects their clinical interestsValues reflection, depth, and intentional practice designIs seeking stability without sacrificing autonomyIs thinking long-term about sustainability and professional identityThis is a career-building role designed to support your long-term development as a psychologist, with scope over time to move into mentoring or senior roles as the practice expands.What your week will look likeWe believe clarity supports sustainability. In this role, you''ll receive: Part-time employee role: 2 days per week (Wednesdays & Thursdays preferred) Hourly rate: $50 to $75 per hour + super (above NSW Health Award Rates), aligned with a structured progression framework based on years of experience, clinical capability, and caseload utilisation. Transparent pay structure, with clear expectations from the outset Salary progression is reviewed annually and aligned with demonstrated clinical capability and sustained utilisation. Reasonable, sustainable KPIs aligned with part-time work, typically up to 5 booked client sessions per day Protected time (approximately 3 hours per day within a 2-day week) for notes, admin, CPD, peer consultation, and reflection Established referral pathways A practice intentionally designed to support long-term clinical work and reduce burnoutDeveloping your Clinical ExpertiseOngoing growth and sustainability are central to how we practise.You''ll be supported to further develop your clinical expertise through: An annual CPD allowance (pro-rated to contracted FTE and subject to completion of probation), tailored to support your developing clinical niche Fortnightly peer consultation within a supportive, collegial environment An annual supervision allowance (pro-rated to contracted FTE), recognising the importance of reflective practice and continued growth Regular opportunities for case discussion A practice culture that values depth, boundaries, and sustainable clinical workAbout the PracticeThe Psychology Alley is currently known for work with adults presenting with complex and high-impact difficulties, including personality vulnerabilities, trauma, mood and anxiety disorders, and cross-cultural or identity-related concerns. You won''t be expected to replicate the practice lead''s work. Instead, you''ll be supported to develop your own clinical identity and niche, while working within a practice that values depth, formulation-driven work, and long-term change.
