The Diabetes Educator Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of safe, efficient and effective health interventions related to diabetes education and management within the hospital inpatient and outpatient settings and is a clinical resource person for patients and their families and carers, and other health professionals in the area of diabetes.For role related queries or questions contact Elizabeth Roberts on Selection CriteriaCurrent unrestricted registration as a Registered Nurse with the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia, and have completed an Australian Diabetes Educators Association (ADEA) recognised course in the management of diabetes, and are credentialled as a Diabetes Educator or working towards same.Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication, interpersonal skills and the ability to identify key messages, issues and concerns when communicating with others.Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with patients/clients to enhance service delivery and to guide others in providing service excellence.Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and apply professional and ethical boundaries when dealing with complex situations.Basic computer skills and proven ability to use health information systems.Detailed knowledge and understanding of risk management, safety and quality principles and the role of the Registered Nurse in applying these principles.Demonstrated knowledge and recent clinical experience in all aspects of management for clients with diabetes in both inpatient and outpatient settings.Need more information?Click here for the Position Description and SESLHD Expected StandardsFind out more about applying for this positionOur CORE Values are Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment and have been created by employees for employees and help define how we work and to inspire positive interactions in the workplace.We embrace diversity as our strength and are committed to maintaining an inclusive and collaborative work environment.
