Full Time 12-month opportunity for a Research Focused academicExciting opportunity in the field of Endocrinology & AndrologyBase Salary $89,831.00 PA + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityThis role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to impactful research within the fields of Reproductive Endocrinology and Andrology. As a Research-Focused Academic, you will apply and deepen your expertise to advance the Faculty/School''s research agenda, working closely with the leading Professor of Reproductive Endocrinology & Andrology. You will participate in innovative projects that address critical questions in reproductive health, collaborating within a dynamic and supportive research environment.You will work under broad supervision, managing your responsibilities independently while contributing effectively to team-based research. With the autonomy to choose appropriate research methods, you will plan and prioritise your workload to meet project goals and deliver high-quality research outputs. As a subject matter expert, you will act as a key point of contact in your specialist area, providing informed advice and resolving routine matters, while also collaborating with others to navigate more complex issues.This position is ideal for a proactive and motivated researcher who is passionate about advancing knowledge in reproductive science and contributing to meaningful, real-world outcomes.Your key responsibilities will be to:conduct research, scholarly or professional activities independently or as part of a team, contributing to knowledge within the disciplinedevelop and refine independent research skills under the guidance of senior academic staffprovide informal mentoring and support to students within the disciplinecarry out administrative tasks and actively participate in faculty or school meetingscontribute to a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values diverse perspectives, collaboration, excellence, and achieving outcomesunderstand and support the advancement of the university and faculty/school strategic prioritiesundertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate to the classification level as required.Selection Criteria:Essential:science degree (BSc or MSc degree or equivalent) in laboratory-based scienceexperience with theory and practice of stereological enumeration of objects in tissue sectionsexperience with laboratory molecular biology methods (DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, genetic/DNA database searching) including method development and troubleshootingwillingness to work independently, with guidance, and in a groupexcellent oral and written communication skills in Englishstrong familiarity with standard computer methods (Word. Excel, PowerPoint), statistical and graphics packagesDesirable:experience with rodent handling and surgeryexperience in other laboratory procedures including organic solvent extraction of steroids from biological fluidsexperience with electron microscopyWork RightsYou must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
