SysOps EngineerReporting to VP, Technical OperationsLocation - SydneyBeonic helps marketing, operations, IT, and research teams measure, predict, and influence customer behavior across the physical and digital world. Beonic''s cloud-based software platform, called Beonic IO, helps venues visualize trends from digital and physical data in a single system of record. Bolstered by the stability and transparency that come from being a public company, Beonic (ASX:BEO) aims to responsibly use technology to positively affect relationships between people and the places they visit.About the Role:We are looking for a SysOps Engineer / Systems Administrator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will have deep experience working in Linux-based environments, strong skills in setting up and maintaining servers, and a solid understanding of remote access technologies. A key aspect of this role is direct collaboration with remote clients: gathering requirements, providing technical support, and ensuring clear communication around system performance and changes. This position blends technical ownership with client-facing responsibility.Responsibilities:Serve as a primary technical contact for remote clients, addressing issues and providing solutionsDeploy, configure, and maintain Linux servers in production and staging environmentsManage remote access securely using SSH and related toolsImplement and maintain monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios, Zabbix, or similar)Troubleshoot and resolve system performance issues for both internal teams and client-facing systemsEnsure systems are secure, up-to-date, and compliant with internal policiesCollaborate with developers, DevOps, IT staff, and clients to support business-critical applications.Document infrastructure, processes, and client-related workflows.Support and maintain production systems and networksMaintain and improve upon deployment strategiesReview and optimize network architecturesDocument and diagram systems and networksLevel 2/3 and periodic level 1 supportCommunicate effectively with internal stakeholders throughout the deployment and support processThis role includes on-call support during weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.Train and mentor team members, providing upskilling opportunities to enhance member''s performance.Basic Qualifications:Minimum 3 to 5 years of enterprise experience in either: systems administration and/or systems engineering in a Linux or mixed server environmentStrong knowledge of Linux system administrationBachelor''s degree in a technical field or equivalent industry experienceHands-on experience with server setup, configuration, and management.Proficiency with secure remote access methods (SSH, VPNs, bastion hosts).Familiarity with monitoring tools and alerting systems.Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, load balancing, firewalls).Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple client engagements.Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.Strong communication and interpersonal skillsExperience with switching and routing principles and technologies, such as TCP/IP, UDP, ICMP, DHCP, DNS, Routing, VLANStrong enterprise networking background with hands-on experience contributing to network and Wi-Fi design, survey, implementation, and ongoing support, including validation of installation quality and reliability in complex environments.Preferred Qualifications:Experience with IaaS/PaaS solutions, such as AWS or AzureExperience with Wi-Fi network administrationFamiliarity with Cybersecurity best practicesExperience with sensor and data analytics solutions, such as IoT, lidar, people counters, and camerasSpatial understanding of physical spaces from floor plans and pictures desired but not requiredAirport experience and familiarity with the travel process would be advantageousNice to Have:Experience with Wi-Fi or camera site surveyingExperience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).Automation skills with tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.Scripting knowledge (Bash, Python, or similar).Exposure to containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).Diversity and InclusionBeonic values the diversity of the people it hires and serves.
