(pro-rata) + 17% superannuationAbout the opportunityMUST BE ENROLLED IN A PHD AT THE UNIVERSITY OF SYDNEY BUSINESS SCHOOLThe University of Sydney Business School is currently seeking PhD students in all areas of Business for part-time appointments as a PhD Teaching Fellow. We are seeking to appoint a total of six (6) PhD Teaching Fellows to work in each of the following Schools:School of Accounting, Governance and RegulationSchool of Business Analytics and MarketingSchool of FinanceSchool of International Business, Logistics and Supply ChainsSchool of Strategy, Innovation and TechnologySchool of Work and Organisational StudiesThis PhD Teaching Fellowship Program provides training and experience in tertiary teaching to outstanding doctoral candidates with the aim of developing the next generation of university academics skilled in University learning and teaching. The fixed term appointment is for a period of 2 years during the PhD candidature.It is required that you will participate in teaching and learning training by undertaking the MPLF program run by the Education Innovation group in the University and be successful in achieving your AFHEA by the end of your fixed term appointment. Further support will be provided throughout your employment by academic staff whom you will work with in the teaching program.Your key responsibilities will be to:serve as the head tutor or provide administrative support for core units within the Business School''s teaching programsconduct and prepare for tutorials during both semesters in designated core areas of the Business School''s coursework teaching programsconduct assessment and examination marking and/or support for the academic integrity teamrespond to student enquiries and moderate canvas discussion forumsprovide guidance to other tutors as a head tutor in core coursework units within the Business School''s teaching programundertake administrative functions, including supporting Unit of Study Coordinatorsparticipate in University events and outreach activities, such as Open Days, student life eventsprepare online and/or in-person teaching delivery and contribute to the development of tutorial programsprovision of consultation hours or pastoral support for students.About youmust be currently enrolled in a PhD at the University of Sydney and have ideally already completed at least 4-6 research periods (full-time equivalent), and have either successfully passed or are close to passing your thesis proposal defence in the Business Schoolhave a passion for teachingpossess good time management, organisational, and administrative skills with attention to detailhave proven excellence in both written and verbal communicationare motivated and able to work independentlyhave developing knowledge and understanding of contemporary pedagogical practice and design.To be supplied by applicants:A current CVA cover letter addressing the selection criteria including which School you are applying toTwo letters of reference (one of these letters must be from your Lead supervisor)Current academic transcriptSponsorship / work rights for AustraliaYou must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to apply.
