We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney''s CBD. The roleStep into a role where you''ll help shape and care for one of Sydney''s most iconic foreshore precincts. As the Manager, Building and Place Services, you''ll oversee the delivery of facility management and operations, WHS and building services across the Darling Harbour precinctworking closely with landowners, partners and government agencies to keep this highvisitation public domain safe, functional and welcoming. You''ll take ownership of the asset management plans for Darling Harbour and the historic Pyrmont Bridge, guiding major repair and renewal works while ensuring compliance, strong governance and proactive maintenance.Every day brings something differentoverseeing service delivery from our Integrated Property Services (IPS) provider, coordinating projects, conducting inspections, and navigating the challenges of a complex marine and publicdomain environment. You''ll balance competing priorities, collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, and help ensure essential services are delivered to a consistently high standard across one of Sydney''s busiest and most loved urban precincts.For more information read the full Role Description: Manager Building and Place ServicesPlease also note that the position will be located at Placemaking NSW''s site office in Darling Harbour, with periodic requirement for attendance at our head office in The Rocks.What you will bring to the role Significant experience in building services, construction, facilities management or similar work within large, complex publicdomain environments.Capability managing marineadjacent infrastructure and the unique risks of foreshore assets and highvisitation precincts.Experience working with (and getting the best from) outsourced FM or IPS service providersideally with strong governance oversight and contractor performance management.Strong asset management capability, including managing asset management plans for major assets (e.g., heritage structures like Pyrmont Bridge) and supporting lifecycle planning, budget development, risk management and planned maintenance.Confident stakeholder engagement skills, able to work with local, state and federal agencies, contractors, suppliers and precinct partners to deliver safe, compliant and highquality outcomes.The ability to plan and prioritise amidst competing deadlines, tight timeframes and shifting expectations, while maintaining service quality.Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with the confidence to provide technical advice, identify issues early and recommend practical solutions.What is an essential requirement:Tertiary qualifications in Construction, Building Services, Facilities Management, and/or or equivalent professional or technical experience.What''s in it for me?Join our team for a fantastic culture with dynamic collaboration and genuine long-term career support.
