The Role Were seeking a handson General Manager to lead El Questro into its next era. This is a rare opportunity to manage one of Australias most iconic wilderness resorts, overseeing its operations, people, and guest experience while driving continued growth, cultural connection, and environmental stewardship. Youll lead a team of 130+ seasonal staff and 19 Department Heads, ensuring all three properties, The Station, Homestead, and Emma Gorge, deliver consistently exceptional service, operational excellence, and unforgettable guest experiences. During the fivemonth seasonal closure, you and a small team will remain on site to prepare the property for reopening, refine processes, and deliver capital improvements. Duties Lead daily resort operations with a dynamic and forwardthinking approach. Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance, ensuring profitability and sustainability. Champion a guest engagement strategy that balances experience excellence with operational efficiency. Maintain the highest standards in dining, accommodation, and guest services through rigorous quality control. Identify and execute revenueenhancing opportunities and process improvements across departments. Build and nurture relationships with Traditional Owners in line with the Indigenous Land Use Agreement (ILUA), fostering meaningful collaboration and cultural respect. Represent El Questro and the Gday Group brand externally, engaging with tourism bodies, government, and local community partners. Inspire and empower a diverse team, fostering a culture of integrity, care, and professional development. Skills & Experience Youre a proven leader who thrives in remote, highstakes environments. Strategic yet handson, you can shift seamlessly between operations, people leadership, and guest experience and you understand what it takes to deliver excellence in the Kimberley. Extensive experience in tourism, hospitality, or resort management, ideally with exposure to remote or wilderness destinations. Strong financial acumen, experienced in budget creation, forecasting, and cost control. Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with a record of developing highperforming teams. Experience working with Indigenous communities and partnership groups. Strategic thinker who can balance commercial outcomes with guest and community impact. Experience in multiproperty or complex resort operations. Background in highend or adventure tourism. Familiarity with capital works or seasonal operational planning.
