Senior Director, Market Modelling - Economic AdvisoryFTI Consulting is home to one of the worlds leading independent economic and financial consulting practices, helping clients understand todays economic, financial and regulatory opportunities and challenges. We are seeking a Senior Director to support FTI Consultings Renewables and Energy Transition team with market modelling capability. The Renewables and Energy Transition team sits within the Economic and Financial Advisory practice.Our Renewables and Energy Transition team works across all components of the energy supply chains to help clients understand challenges and opportunities within the energy market and in the context of the energy transition, and options to achieve their objectives. Our team, which includes economists, engineers, government and regulatory specialists, commercial and strategy advisors and modellers regularly works with businesses, investors, governments, regulators and market institutions to find unique and bespoke solutions to meet our clients needs.What Youll DoProvide leadership with the design of service offering related to market modelling.Develop and maintain FTIs suite of energy market modelling tools, including our wholesale electricity market model (Plexos-based) and battery model (Python-based).Lead client engagements and work closely with the FTI team to deliver outstanding results for clients.Design and create modelling solutions to understand clients complex and unique problems and evaluate potential solutions.Contribute to business growth, including identifying new opportunities and building relationships with new and existing clients.Contribute to team culture and develop junior staff.Work closely with the global FTI team to facilitate a two-way flow of global learnings to the benefit of clients.Lead thought leadership and help grow awareness of FTI brand in the Australian and Asian Pacific market.How Youll GrowThis is a great opportunity for someone with deep understanding of Australias energy market to contribute to the growth of a specialist offering within the market. You will expand your role within our team of experts, progressively enhancing your skills and expertise and increasing your impact.Qualifications & ExperienceWe are looking for:A team player with a deep understanding of energy markets and a desire and motivation to accelerate the growth of your career within the industryExtensive knowledge of renewable energy sector and decarbonisationCreative professional with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional solution to complex client problems.Quantitative skills (R/Python/ Plexos experience is preferable but not required) and experience applying quantitative skills to understand problems and support decision makingExperience communicating the findings of your analysis to a broad spectrum of peopleA leader who is passionate about coaching and mentoring junior staff membersTertiary qualifications in Engineering, Commerce or Economics are desirable.
