Be part of a team that thrives on rising to the challenge of transforming lives for good.The OpportunityJohn Hollands Major & Strategic Projects division is currently constructing some of Australias most complex infrastructure projects, including Westgate Tunnel, Melbourne Metro (CYP), Torrens to Darlington (T2D), M7-M12 Interchange and Sydney Metro West -Eastern Tunnelling Package.We are currently seeking a General Manager Health, Sustainability and Environment (HSE) to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney. Reporting to the Executive Director for Major & Strategic Projects, this role is accountable for the following:Providing operational direction, support and oversight of all aspects of health, wellbeing, safety, environment and sustainabilityLeading and managing the implementation of HSE strategies, systems and initiatives across the BU and reporting progress to and on behalf of the Major Projects Senior Leadership TeamMaintaining up-to-date knowledge of all relevant legal, regulatory and company requirements associated with HSE; ensuring management and staff are informed of any relevant changes and their impactsDeveloping and implementing HSE education, as well as compliance and improvement programs for employees, clients, contractors and visitorsEnsuring that the Major Projects division implements and monitors the JHG SQERM Operational Risk Management processes, capability, focus and discipline.About YouBachelors degree in Science, Safety, Environment, or other related disciplines10 years HSE experience in construction, engineering or heavy industry fields (with major infrastructure/ heavy engineering/ road/ rail/ mining/ tunnelling and underground construction/ power and transmission highly desirable)Several years experience managing and leading a HSE function in complex and high risk industriesRegulatory and audit knowledgeThis is an exciting time to join one of Australias leading contractors, supporting a key business unit that will continue to deliver complex Energy, Tunnelling and Major Infrastructure projects across the nation.We OfferCompetitive remuneration with salary continuance, and salary sacrifice packaging options available.Great leave benefits including 18 weeks paid parental leave with superannuation and up to an extra 18 weeks of superannuation paid on further periods of unpaid parental leave, multicultural leave exchange and two additional John Holland Days to prioritise health and wellbeing.Career progression underpinned by our exciting pipeline of work means youll have the opportunity to work on iconic projects that are shaping cities and communities.Flexible working that works for you as we know flexibility means different things to different people.
