Founded in 2013, by a group of courageous Coota Girls Survivors, Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation supports the complex healing needs of Stolen Generations Survivors, their families, and descendants. We work in partnership to address their social, emotional, cultural, and spiritual wellbeing in a practical and holistic way. Guided by the aspirations of Coota Girls Survivors, we deliver healing programs and events, provide direct practical support, advocate for systemic change, share the Coota Girls story for truthtelling and healing, and raise awareness of the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Chief Executive Officer to advance and build upon the strong foundation already established at Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation. This role is a powerful opportunity to be a part of a passionate team committed to Stolen Generations healing, reconnection, and truth-telling. Key Responsibilities Lead and execute the organisations strategic direction and objectives. Oversee the management and operations of Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation. Cultivate and strengthen relationships with community groups, governments, funding bodies, and stakeholders. Serve as the public, Survivor-led voice of Coota Girls Aboriginal Corporation across media, events, forums, and public platforms. Ensure financial sustainability, growth, and good governance. Uphold legal, regulatory, and cultural compliance. Support and liaise with the Board of Directors, ensuring clear and consistent communication. Foster a culturally safe, inclusive, and trauma-informed workplace. Advocate passionately for Stolen Generations Survivors, their families, and descendants. Requirements We are seeking a candidate who: Strong leadership experience, ideally in community, not-for-profit, or First Nations-led organisations. Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Social Work, Business Administration, Community Services, or related). Deep understanding of and experience with First Nations, Stolen Generations history and intergenerational trauma. Demonstrated stakeholder engagement, advocacy, strategic planning, governance, and financial oversight skills. Deep understanding of and experience with trauma-informed care principles. Background in organisational development or capacity building.
