Chief Financial Officer

ASIC is seeking a Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This executive role leads ASIC''s Finance function and oversees strategic financial leadership to support the organisation''s priorities and the protection of consumers in the Australian financial system. Responsibilities Provide strategic leadership of ASIC''s Finance and unclaimed money functions Lead the Finance team to deliver high performance and financial insight to enable smart decision-making Drive long-term financial strategy and oversee financial operations, statutory reporting, and budgeting Prepare consolidated year-end financial statements and work papers, and manage the annual budget process Promote a high-performance culture, ensure financial compliance, and partner with senior leaders on business planning and performance reporting About You (Qualifications and Experience) Proven track record operating at a senior executive level within the public sector or large complex organisations Experience leading large finance teams and fostering continuous improvement in a dynamic environment Ability to think strategically, problem solve, and communicate effectively to diverse stakeholders Capability to work across the business to deliver outcomes and insights on financial performance Employment Details Seniority level: Executive Employment type: Temporary Location: Flexible Initial term: 3 years Applications close: 11:59pm AEST, Monday 15 September 2025 About ASIC ASIC''s remit is broad, regulating corporations, markets, financial services and consumer credit, with a focus on market integrity and consumer protection.
