Working under the direction of the Director of Meteorology, you will play a key role in helping clients make informed, weather-driven decisions by translating complex weather and climate data into clear, actionable insights.We''d love to consider everyone, but this role is limited to candidates with Australian Permanent Residency status or Australian citizenship due to compliance and work authorization requirements. What you will be responsible for:Monitoring and analyzing evolving weather and climate patterns to identify and communicate potential impacts to customersProducing and delivering accurate weather forecasts, graphical products, and interpretive commentary for B2B and B2C platformsProviding customized meteorological briefings to customers via phone and videoconference, including proactive alerts for significant weather eventsSupporting media engagements, including weather-related interviews and presentations for radio, print, and online channelsMaintaining service quality through data quality control, adherence to procedures and style guides, and meeting all operational deadlinesCollaborating with Operations Support and the wider team to identify service issues early and contribute to continuous improvementParticipating in team initiatives, meetings, and ongoing training to support capability development within the Meteorology functionWhat you will bring to the role:A tertiary qualification in meteorology, atmospheric science, or climatology (WMO BIP-M compliant qualifications highly desirable)A strong understanding of Australian weather patterns and the end-to-end weather forecasting processProven analytical skills, including the ability to interpret spatial weather patterns and assess weather-related impactsStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate technical information for diverse audiencesA customer-focused mindset with the ability to work calmly under pressure and meet strict deadlinesConfidence working both independently and collaboratively within a team environmentA commitment to continuous professional development and maintaining high quality and safety standardsAdditional information: This role provides leave relief across DTN APAC Meteorological Operations as required.What you can expect from DTN:Competitive SalaryFlexible work arrangementsSuperannuation ContributionsUnlimited access to 13k+ courses via learning platform to support employee career advancementEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)CompensationThe targeted hiring base pay range for this position is between AUD 63,750 and AUD 85,000 annually. DTN is a pay-for-performance organization, which means there is the opportunity to advance your compensation with performance over time. The actual base pay offered for this position will be dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to: prior work experience, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, internal equity and applicable laws. The targeted hiring base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
