Overview Are you an experienced animal care professional ready to take the next step into a leadership role? Were looking for a dedicated Senior Animal Shelter Officer to provide exceptional operational and supervisory support to the Team Leader in managing the daytoday operations of our busy Animal Shelter. As the Senior Animal Shelter Officer, youll play a key role in leading and mentoring the shelter team, ensuring the highest standards of animal welfare, customer service, and workplace safety. Youll be confident making decisions, solving problems, and providing direction in the Team Leaders absence, helping the team deliver consistent, professional, and compassionate care. This handson role involves overseeing daily shelter activities, coordinating volunteers and community programs, maintaining facilities and equipment, and liaising with veterinarians, animal welfare organisations, and members of the public. Youll also contribute to improving policies, procedures, and processes that support responsible pet ownership and enhance shelter operations. Qualifications Proven experience in animal care, welfare, or shelter operations. Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to support and motivate a team. Excellent problemsolving, decisionmaking and communication skills. A sound understanding of animal welfare legislation and safe work practices.
