The Role On behalf of Programmed Facility Management, we are seeking a Facilities Caretaker to join our Christchurch team, based at Rolleston College. The hours will be 8 hour shifts, potentially between 6am and 7pm, Mon - Fri. 40 hours a week for a minimum of 6 weeks up to 6 months on a temporary contract with Persolkelly. Getting your steps in with this hands-on role you will be reporting to the on-site Facilities Coordinator. You will be required to care, clean, maintain and develop the customer site and associated facilities, using professional techniques and organizational skills in accordance with approved plans, policies, and maintenance schedules ensuring the work is carried out in a safe and professional manner with little to no impact to the operation of the school. Key Responsibilities: Completing diverse work requests within the time frames given. Minor fixing/repair skills and cleaning requirements Build and maintain strong relationships with many varied parties from Contractors to School Operators, to colleagues and peers. Undertake regular inspections of the Facility. Basic level of computer literacy The successful candidate: Physically fit, flexible and adaptable Trade/handy man experience is ideal Strong work ethic with a can-do attitude Clear criminal conviction history as you will undergo full police vetting. Excellent communication skills Reliable, honest and a good team player that enjoys working alongside others Strength to take ownership and responsibility. Strict background checks will be carried out due to the location of this role: Drug and Alcohol screen, Ministry of Justice check and a School Police Vetting. All applicants must have verifiable work rights and eligibility to work in New Zealand and hold a full clean New Zealands drivers Licence.
