Position Vacant - non-executive Director, ABC Board

Australian Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development, Communications, Sport and the Arts Adelaide SA Applications are invited to fill a non-executive Director vacancy on the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Board. This is a part-time position, with a term of up to five years. Required Experience the media industry broadcasting and digital media digital technologies in any sector other than the media sector business or financial management educational content creation corporate governance, including managing large and/or complex operations in the private, public or not-for-profit sectors cultural industry and/or cultural policy, including its administration. Required Qualifications high-level leadership and vision, and the ability to articulate a clear direction for an organisation high-level judgement the highest standards of professional and personal integrity an understanding of, or the ability to credibly represent, the communication needs of Australias diverse society an understanding of the media environment, in particular the ABC, the Charter and its place within the Australian community. Applicants must also demonstrate a commitment to high standards of governance, almost certainly gained from extensive experience serving on boards.
