Sporting Legends, located in Sale, Victoria, is a dynamic hospitality venue known for delivering quality dining and entertainment experience to the local community and beyond. With a well-established reputation for casual yet high-quality meals and service, we pride ourselves on offering fresh, delicious menus tailored to a diverse clientele.Position Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)Salary Range: $70,000 $80,000 + superannuationKey Responsibilities: Menu Design & Costing: Plan and develop seasonal and event-based menus, estimate food and labour costs, and ensure cost-effective operations while maintaining quality and variety. Ingredient Procurement: Order, manage and rotate stock of food supplies, ensuring freshness, availability, and minimising wastage. Quality Control: Supervise and maintain the quality of dishes throughout preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and customer satisfaction. Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with management, front-of-house staff, and kitchen team members regarding dish preparation, dietary needs, and workflow. Food Preparation & Cooking: Prepare and cook a wide range of dishes in line with Sporting Legends menu, focusing on fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Cooking Techniques & Training: Demonstrate preparation techniques and advise kitchen staff on culinary procedures to uphold standards and enhance kitchen efficiency. Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Ensure kitchen operations always comply with food safety regulations and hygiene standards. Staff Supervision & Development: Assist with the selection, mentoring, and training of kitchen team members to build a capable and motivated workforce. Food Preservation: Oversee appropriate food storage practices including freezing and preserving ingredients where required. Event Catering: Assist with planning and executing tailored catering for in-house functions and special events. Continuous Improvement: Participate in ongoing reviews of menu items and kitchen procedures to improve service delivery and customer satisfaction.Minimum Qualification: AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma, or Diploma in a relevant fieldExperience Required: At least 1 year of relevant experiencePersonal Attributes: Passion for food and commitment to high culinary standards Strong organisational and multitasking skills in a fast-paced environment Excellent communication and leadership abilities Attention to detail and a creative approach to menu development Reliable, punctual, and a collaborative team player Knowledge of dietary needs and allergen management Adaptable to changing customer preferences and kitchen demandsIf youre a dedicated Chef who thrives in a community-focused venue and has a flair for flavour, apply now and become part of the Sporting Legends story.
