We are seeking a Melbourne based, Senior Digital Designer with strong client leadership capability someone who has come from a hands-on design background and is ready to operate across design, client relationships, and business growth. The Role As our Senior Digital Designer / Client Partner, you will sit at the intersection of creative leadership, client management, and new business development. This is a senior, outward-facing role. You will be responsible for leading digital design outputs while also owning key client relationships and playing a visible role in identifying, nurturing, and converting new opportunities for the agency. You will work directly with clients from ideation and pitching through to delivery acting as a trusted creative partner who understands both the design craft and commercial outcomes. Importantly, this role requires someone who is a designer. You bring credibility, empathy, and practical understanding of the design process, while confidently operating in a client-facing, growth-oriented capacity. Key Responsibilities Lead and deliver high-quality digital design work across UX/UI, brand, product and visual communications (Designer access of our Melbourne and European design teams) Act as the primary point of contact for key clients, building trusted, long-term relationships Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and proactively contribute to new business development Ideate, pitch and present creative concepts directly to clients to secure new work Manage client expectations, scope, timelines and budgets across multiple projects Translate briefs into strong creative direction and oversee execution with internal and freelance teams Project manage creative work to ensure delivery is on time, on budget and to a high standard Collaborate with sales, strategy and leadership to support agency growth initiatives Provide creative leadership, mentorship and feedback to designers across the studio Engage and manage freelance designers and developers as required Skills & Attributes Design excellence strong conceptual thinking and a refined digital design eye Client leadership confident, credible and comfortable leading client conversations Commercial mindset understands how great design drives business outcomes Growth orientation proactive in spotting opportunities and converting them into work Creative direction able to guide teams and elevate output across the studio Project & stakeholder management organised, accountable and calm under pressure Tech-savvy fluent in industry tools and curious about emerging platforms and trends Experience Minimum 5+ years experience in digital design Strong portfolio demonstrating digital, web and UX/UI work Prior experience in an agency environment preferred Proven experience working directly with clients Proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and presentation tools such as PowerPoint Experience balancing creative delivery with client and commercial responsibilities Melbourne based full time role In our Melbourne Office Benefits Work with a highly collaborative, creative and ambitious team Training support and skills development Clear leadership and career progression pathway Mac or PC customised IT setup Why Charles Elena At Charles Elena, youll work on globally recognised projects with clients across multiple industries and regions.
