Our business has recently revisited our values with purpose of globalising an iconic Australian brand.The Opportunity:The role of the Marketing Manager is to design and implement the overall portfolio strategy for the fruit category. This currently includes brands such as SPC, Goulburn Valley and Provital as well as private label products for our retail customers. This role will lead the Fruit portfolio and work collaboratively with the sales, R&D and operations teams to effectively deliver the strategy.Reporting to the GM Marketing you will be responsible for the development and implementation of the total portfolio strategy. This includes NPD, portfolio management, marketing, branding, and promotional program to build brand equity, penetration and drive profitable growth. You will also use consumer and market research, product analysis, and customer feedback to recognise opportunities for advancing the brands across a range of products and categories.Key Responsibilities:Portfolio Strategy, Brand Strategy, Planning and Management:Develop & drive the implementation of the portfolio and marketing strategy & executional plans that will support the commercial team to deliver sales and profit targetsManagement of all elements of the marketing mix including product development, pricing, consumer and trade marketing initiativesEffective collaboration & communication of plans to key stakeholders to gain support and commitment to activitieDriving the creative development of packaging, advertising, consumer and trade promotions, communication and channel strategies (where applicable)Ensuring brand performance measures are in place using internal and external data sources (volume, market share, revenue) and implement appropriate strategies to deliver desired performancePreparing post-activity campaign reports including achievements of KPI''s and ROIProvide updates on competitor activitiesEffectively managing agreed marketing budget and monthly reportingConsumer/Customer Engagement:Champion the consumer and ensure that they are at the centre of business thinkingUse an insight to action approach, ensuring that all portfolio and marketing plans and communication are underpinned with strong consumer insight and category/research dataCollaborate with consumer service team on all plans to ensure that we minimise complaints, capture consumer feedback and communicate effectivelyCollaborate with Sales & Category Teams to ensure customer engagement in line with customer ranging opportunitiesInnovation and New Product Development:Identify portfolio needs and develop NPD pipeline based on consumer/customer insight, market dynamics and overall business requirements. This includes branded and private label productsWork closely with R&D and operations teams, third party suppliers and consultants, to ensure products meet nutritional, sensory and quality standards. Where required ensure we secure approval from regulatory bodies before launching productsKeep up to date with market insights and new technology that can help secure competitive advantage for the categoryWork on new business opportunities with a view to launching products that will enhance the overall profitability of the business whilst driving volume with minimal or no cannibalisation of existing salesProject manage all Fruit NPD via stakeholder engagement, cross functional team meetings, timeline creation/adherence and escalation management to deliver NPD to agreed timelinesManage all NPD via monthly Stage Gate processAddress and action product quality issuesManage and make recommendations for packaging updatesScope new category and segment market opportunitiesCollaborate with the sales team to establish trade engagement and source trade input for NPDTrack and report performance of new product launches and recommend corrective actionLeadership and Team management:Build partnerships and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholdersBuild and develop Brand Manager, providing guidance, mentorship and professional development opportunitiesLeadership Attributes ~ Demonstrate high growth agility and the following leadership attitudes: CREATES a meaningful futureAble to dream big for SPC to propose new possibilities & breakthrough ideas for the brandsAble to co-create with consumers, retailers, agenciesAble to share internally and externally the vision for the brand, with a sense of purpose and clarityThinks and acts ahead to anticipate market/ competitors'' next moves, and adapt plans accordinglyKeeps a can-do attitude even when facing difficultiesOPENS connections Inside and OutsideListens generously and understands all stakeholders to build authentic relationships, inside and out of SPC (i.e. to understand needs of consumers/retailers, or needs/constraints of other functions in the business)Displays strong curiosity and willingness to learn every day, especially beyond the Marketing functionDRIVES for Sustainable Results Delivers on time and with excellence in executionAnticipates, plans, and monitors progress to deliver sustainable value for SPC, consumers, customersTakes accountabilityEMPOWERS Self and Diverse teamsFoster collaboration with cross functional teamsRecognises and embraces diversity of styles in the team, able to let others express their own uniquenessSELF AWAREMaintains self-balance, and recognizes when to step back and ask for helpUses own emotions to impact others positivelyActively ask for feedback to gain awareness of strengths and areas of development, and acts upon itLeverages mistakes as an opportunity to learnHelps peers to grow through constructive feedbackThe successful candidate will have:Tertiary qualifications in Marketing or Business/managementMinimum 3 years in a Marketing Management roleFMCG or Consumer Goods experience preferredProven track record of brand positioning and brand strategy process.Proven track record of successful project management + collaboration with key functions such as R&D, Procurement, Finance, Sales and Industrial.Experience in NPD ideation and execution from concept development using the Stage Gate processExperience in communication campaign development and media plan management digital marketing & social media managementProven success of delivering market results based on proposed strategy and execution plan.Experience and full understanding of P&LExperience using Circana or Quantium to analysis portfolio performanceAgile & resilient mindset and readiness to learnProactive attitude working with autonomy and going beyond scope when needed.Strong communication skills - engage internal stakeholders to move plans forwardAbility to thrive in a fast-paced environmentA hands-on approach and a determination to make things happenOur Culture:Our employees come from all walks of life, across many cultures and backgrounds.
