The Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Service (IVPRS) team is passionate about supporting vulnerable individuals and families through culturally safe, trauma-informed services.Work within a multidisciplinary team of experts in sexual assault, domestic violence, and child protectionBe part of a culturally inclusive and supportive workplaceAccess ongoing professional development and cultural supervisionCollaborate with community and interagency partnersLocated at Westmead Hospital, a leading health facility in Western SydneyWhat you''ll be doingAs the Aboriginal Sexual Assault Counsellor, youll play a vital role in supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander clients affected by sexual assault. Youll provide therapeutic services, crisis support, and advocacy, while fostering trust and cultural safety across the community.Deliver specialist counselling and case management to victims and their familiesFacilitate access to forensic and medical services following recent assaultsPromote culturally safe practices across IVPRS and partner servicesParticipate in a 24-hour on-call roster for crisis responseCollaborate with interagency teams to ensure integrated, trauma-informed careHow to ApplyApply online by submitting your resume and addressing the criteria listed below by providing examples that demonstrate your ability before the closing date.Essential Criteria:Licence: Current NSW Driver''s LicenceQualifications: Tertiary qualification (minimum bachelors degree) in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling or Graduate Certificate in Human & Community Services (Interpersonal Trauma) with demonstrated cultural expertise.Evidence of Diversity claim: Aboriginal or Torres Strait IslanderSelection Criteria:This is an identified Aboriginal Position. Applicants must be of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander descent, have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
